Los Osos Septic Decommissioning and Reuse Project (LOSDRP)

Mladen Bandov will discuss the Appropriate Technology Coalition's involvement with the Los Osos wastewater project. He will cover:
- The project's unique opportunity to apply appropriate technology for water efficiency and conservation.
- How the Coastal Development Permit issued by the California Coastal Commission for the project requires the County of SLO to develop a Septic System Decommissioning and Reuse Plan.
- The decommissioning of approximately 4,200 septic systems in Los Osos and the possible on-site reuse of the septic tanks and disposal components to provide stormwater runoff control and groundwater infiltration benefits.
- The community outreach and education effort that is tailored specifically to Los Osos to maximize the success of decommissioning and reuse plan.
