Today the recycled wastewater from our treatment plant got a new home! I can't recall what I signed up for to get the invite, but it came via email two weeks ago.
You can see three new water spots above - Los Osos Middle School (LOMS), Monarch Grove Elementary School, AND our community park!!
There were two videographers - KSBY and the County guy who will upload his videos to the County website and social media. Here's a link to KSBY:
https://www.ksby.com/los-osos/los-osos-turns-on-the-tap-at-three-new-recycled-water-sites Attendees (and some were speakers) included Supervisor Bruce Gibson, LOCSD GM Ron Munds, BMC's Dan Heimel, Kate Ballantyne (maven at the last recycled ribbon cutting https://losewersaga.blogspot.com/2019/08/valve-turning-ceremony-today.html ) Mladen Bandov - remember him at the Water Resources Advisory Committee, Francesca Devlin (she sent the email), and many more!
Purple pipe will have to wait for Baywood Elementary School. They are doing a major remodel and when all that construction is over, they'll get theirs.
Three speakers - Supervisor Bruce Gibson, seated, left; County guy - sorry I failed to write down your name; and at the podium, Ron Munds, the LOCSD General Manager.
Ribbon cutting was done twice - here's Bruce, first up. The scissors were dull, the ribbon tough. It was kind of hilarious! There was a second cutting - same problem - with a (County? Construction?) guy whose name I did not get.
And there were those purple glazed donuts! You know - purple pipe!
Yes,I have not posted for a while. It's been kinda quiet on the sewer front!
Here's a map of where the recycled water is going:
