Bay News LO Sewer Article
Hot off the press, or in this case, arriving in warmish pixels, the Bay News has a Los Osos sewer story this issue - basically writing about what went on at the Board of Supes yesterday, protested heartily by the usual suspects. Alas, not even a tiny pause in approving the sewer's Consent Calendar items by ALL FIVE SUPES, (Yayyyy, Supes!!) which must have been truly disheartening for the you-know-whos.
Here is the link:

You can find the cost breakdowns off this link:

And here is the link to the latest County Sewer Report:

Check out the fun photos! Our sewer is moving closer to completion, the naysayers are more and more irrelevant than ever!!

Bay News' Neil Farrell Tours Wastewater Plant
The latest addition of the Bay News came out today and our sewer-to-be got a front page article! OK, it was below the fold and apparently didn't rate high enough to have the featured, giant, above-the-fold, awesome photo spot, but it was better than nothing!
http://tolosapressnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/BN-02-19-15-p.pdf
There are no photos in the paper or digital edition, but Farrell mentions that there are photos somewhere on the Tolosa Press site; I noodled around for at least five minutes and could not find them.
While I personally don't agree with Farrell and think the delay to getting this thing built was a good thing (considering how that stymied addressing the severe water supply issues that we have due to the bankruptcy) and that spending $19 million more to put it out of town is worth it, nonetheless, I learned a LOT of new stuff from his article. Please read it off the link above or get a paper copy at one of the usual spots.

Bay News Letter Reveals Sewage Wedding Venue!
The April 17 to 23, 2014 Bay News had a very fun letter from Dan Glesmann in Morro Bay! Scroll to page 13 off this link:
http://www.tolosapress.com/managed_files/cms/BN%2004-17-14%20web.pdf
It is entitled, "Say 'I Do' Amongst the Poo." The letter was about Morro Bay's proposed sewer plant and how to pay for it. Mr. Glesmann writes about a goal setting workshop where an education center was brought up. He found an article in the Associated Press "Woodinville Wash.—A sewage treatment plant near Seattle is advertising its availability as a wedding venue." People pay money to hold a wedding there!
So because I have already reported on the Tillman Reclamation plant in the San Fernando Valley as being used as just such a venue, I found a couple of interesting links to this newly discovered place that does the same thing:

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/wastewater-treatment-plant-allowing-flushing-brides-grooms-marry-n78821
I couldn't find the Facebook page it has but check out this video!

Really, too late for us to add this to our plant (this plant is HUGE anyway), but some fun sewer reading nonetheless. (The plant is MBR and doesn't smell, remind you of anything?) Could this be in Morro Bay's future?
